
Take A Child Outside Week

The Houston Arboretum & Nature Center invites you to take part in connecting children to the natural world as part of a growing nationwide effort geared to getting young people off the couch, unplugged from technology, and enjoying the outdoors in their local community.
Take a Child Outside week is a program which urges all citizens to participate in outdoor activities from September 24-30, 2008. Take A Child Outside week is designed to help break down obstacles that keep children from discovering the natural world, and to arm parents, teachers and other caregivers with resources and recreational activities for exploring local habitats.
The Arboretum is again participating as a host site in this international program.
Each day this week between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m., there will be a free, outdoor activity set up that parents and children can do together.
